What is good?
I was asked this question in a lecture and thought it was very interesting.
“Is something good because God demands it or does God command good?“

Isn’t that a trick question?
I took that in my morals and ethics class in phil.
My answer?
Things are good because PEOPLE say they are. It is more general consenus than dictated on high. Are things inherently good or evil? I don’t know. Does it matter? Isn’t it more important what people agree to be good or bad, from a practical standpoint, ie) love, altruism, murder, slavery, etc.
