I was asked this question in a lecture and thought it was very interesting.

Who am i

As I said in my first blog I am 18 years old. I am currently studying at the University Of Cape Town. I am studying to get a B.Bus.Sc in actuarial sciences. I am very good at maths and accounting as well as Biology. I like to watch soccer. My favourite team is Liverpool FC.I live in Cape Town and was born in Cape Town. I have a younger brother. We are still very close. I hope to one day become a fully qualified actuary and own my own business. What else is there? I am very good with computers in both software and hardware. I am a person who pays a lot of attention to detail and likes to solve problems and is not afraid of a challenge. I love music especially R&B as well as Hip Hop and believe it or not Rock. I do not have one particular fav artist.

Insight

This blog has been left quite plain for quite a while. This is because I have not had time to post anything here. I have lately been quite busy at varsity with tests, assignments and am currently taking time off to study for my exams. so far I have written four exams i.e. Information systems prac, Economics, Evidence Based Management and accounting. These exams have been my first varsity exams and quite different to the way we wrote exams at school but enough about work. Lets talk about what has happened lately here in South Africa. I am writing this post soon after the xenophobia attacks. I therefore think it is appropriate for me to say that I believe what has happened to be a terrible act and that this should never of happened. I can understand the “reasons ” behind this as poverty and unemployment can cause people to do desperate things especially when they see foreigners getting jobs where they were unsucessful. I am not condoning violence as i believe that violence is never the answer but the foreigners that have been attacked and moved are starting to take advantage of this situation. Our government needs to not only look at solving the problems that have arose from people leaving but try to also find out why this occured and make changes so people are never put in such positions. This is of course just my opinion and I would like to hear what other people have to say about xenophobia(fear of that which is foreign or unknown).
